Stop by this establishment on a whim. Had no intention of going to a restaurant, but saw it as we passed by and I have a hard time passing by any sushi restaurant. Just sat outside and had a quick snack. I had a couple rolls parentheses (Alaska roll and spicy tuna roll). My wife and son also got two small items. None of us are walking away dissatisfied. The staff is very pleasant, curious, and knowledgeable about their menu. We may stop back in again before leaving town.

After extensive research on the best sushi in the area (must be careful when it comes to this fare) my friends and I decided to hit this place up. Our choice was made based on several things including a review I saw here..talk of the best sushi ever? The best bartender they ever had? Sold! And they did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and were greeted by Samara who was happy to see us..she could tell we were a fun bunch and offered us saki bombs..excellent start..the sushi was absolutely incredible...it looked like art! It was seriously one of the best sushi we had ever had..We also were very impressed with the seaweed salad..fresh, crisp, so tasty! The Angel Hair roll was definitely my favorite. They have habachi food also, but to sit at the bar and be entertained by Samara and watch the most gorgeous suhi roll appear in front of us, was for sure a highlight of our vacation.

Enjoyed the sushi bar with seaweed salad, edamame, crab and salmon rolls, tuna sushi, & dancing eel roll. Delicious and fresh.

Terrible experience at that place. When we came in, nobody welcomed us and we kept standing there because nobody would assign us a table. Waitress was unfriendly, unprofessional, inattentive, and SLOW. Waited forever to order. Then waited forever for the appetizer. Waited longer for the sushi. When the sushi finally arrived she forgot to give us cups for the soy sauce. I had to walk to the bar to get them because she wouldn't return. Overall a bad atmosphere between the staff. The BATHROOM was GROSE! Door almost fell off, paper everywhere, sticky floor. Waitress never returned to give us the bill. We walked up to the bar and asked if we may pay. Even paying was a challenge as they did not realize that we wanted to pay with credit card. The sushi was decent but I would NEVER return to that place!

The service was terrible, but the food was great. I took my girlfriend there on a sushi date, and nobody greeted us when we walked in. We stood there for a couple of minutes before anyone noticed us. Finally, when we were seated, I asked the waitress how things were going, to which she replied, "they could be better," with a bit of a frown. That became very apparent as we sat forever at our table while waiting to place our order, to receive our appetizer, and finally to receive our sushi. All of the waiters/waitresses seemed completely overwhelmed, but they were friendly. Perhaps they were new, or they were understaffed for the night. The sushi was the only redeeming part of our experience, and the only reason I'm giving an additional star.

Couldn't get out of there fast enough. My mistake for thinking the name meant they knew how to do Japanese food. Service is nice and quick but food is not close to Japanese. They miss on too many basic things to be Japanese. It's American Asian with an annoying Chinese New Year drum banging periodically.

Best hibachi we have ever had, and the hibachi we use to judge other hibachi restaurants against. Every time we vacation from Columbus Ohio we make it a point to stop here at least one night!

Very good!!! Some of the best Japanese food I've ever eaten! The cook was very entertaining and kept is laughing the entire time! We will definitely be going back!!

I will not be dining here again. I went with my boyfriend because we had a 15% off coupon. We ordered 5 sushi rolls and are used to them all coming out together. Well, we got two of the rolls and were disappointed with the amount of fish in the rolls. There was hardly any fish! Now, if I'm paying $12-$13 dollars for a specialty roll, I want my money's worth in fish, not cucumber. When we told the manager, he told the sushi chef, "this is not my table but they don't like these" then we never heard from him again. After eating our other rolls (which were also minimally stuffed), we asked about the rolls again and apparently no one was remaking them. The manager did not update us or apologize, he wasn't very accommodating. We also got a Beautiful Roll with shrimp tempura (this was the only roll that was nice and big), but the shrimp wasn't cleaned. I posted a picture of it. Gross. The only upside was our waitress, Tiffany. She was sweet and very attentive.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner there. We had Dr. Quang. He was very entertaining and the food was awesome. I would recommend getting the egg rolls. Not what you were expecting. They had crab with cream cheese and were very yummy!! Our waitress was very friendly and knowledgable. Didn't give us any problems with using a phone coupon.

Visited here on our stay at Myrtle Beach hoping to have a great Birthday Dinner. Our cook was new and was very entertaining for his first day however I order filet and chicken, never got the chicken, he told me to eat my sons chicken which he has order for his entrée, and all of the portions he passed around were very small (unsure if they give less food at this location) told the server and she downgraded my meal to a kids filet which was fine but feel as though we should have received a lot more food for the price we pay and no such thing was offered. Also, had a coupon from the books they pass out upon check in and instead of the $10 we should have gotten off due to how high our bill was we only received $5. Wasn't the best hibachi experience in my book and we wont be returning.

Good food at a great price. Three restaurants in one... Hibachi, regular Japanese dining & sushi bar. They have the option to eat at hibachi table or at a regular table if not everyone wants hibachi but you can still order hibachi! There is also a large selection of sushi. Lots of variety & flexible dining options. We has chicken & steak hibachi, tuna roll, salmon roll & my son had a bowl of just noodles. Very good food.

Great service... Good jokes by the chef. Sushi was really good. Steak and scallops were awesome. Shiro was great too... No complaints.

Not sure if we are in old Japan or the old South, but my husband, his brother and I got sushi only while the kids got hibachi. Amazingly the men got additional rice, vegetables and shrimp and I got absolutely nothing. Way to show a lady where she belongs in the south, Lil Tokyo. We won't be back.

What a find! We now live in Charlotte, but travel extensively (all the lower 48, Hawaii, Europe, and Australia). First trip to Myrtle Beach for us. VERY impressed with our appetizers, drinks, sushi rolls and hibachi meal. Just wasn't expecting this level of fantastic on what I've heard described as "the red-neck riviera". A little hard to find...behind Texas Road House, next to Books-a-Million, but worth the search.

Ate here a few nights ago because we were looking for sushi. We had a dragon scale roll and a beautiful roll. Both were good. I had a cocktail called blushing dragon which was delicious. The service was great and fast. Food was great. Would come back.

We ate here as a group of 12, Kasey was our waiter and Billy was our habachi chef. First they both gave great service. We both ordered habachi and sushi. Both were delicious. I highly recommend this place

i came here for vacation in myrtle beach with my family after noticing it in the coastal grand mall and i have to say its a must go to place to eat if you're shopping here. the sushi was fresh as it gets no doubt but we also had the hibachi where they cook in front of you. kenny our chef was very entertaining from the beginning til the end and his food was very delicious so if anyone decides to come around the mall make sure to stop by here and try this place out!! i highly recommend it and we will definitely come back and eat here again when we're in town

There were only two reasons i gave this 4 stars. The first was that we had a 6:00 reservation, and we showed up on time, but they made us wait until close to 6:30 to be seated even though there were clearly open tables. Not cool. I ordered off the hibachi menu, which includes many free extras with the meal (i.e. salad, soup, 2 appetizer shrimp, fried rice, and noodles). The restaurant is similar to Benihanna where the chef comes to the table and cooks your food in front of you. Dinner and a show. The miso soup was very disappointing, and this was the second reason for 4 stars. The rest of the meal was smooth sailing. The chef arrived at the table and started cooking our meals. The food was delicious and it kept coming--and lots of it! I ordered the chicken and scallops, and the scallops were cooked perfectly (not underdone or chewy) and the chicken was perfectly seasoned and was full of flavor. The chef was very nice and hospitable. By the time the chef left, I was so full that I could not even bare to look at the dessert menu (but I did, and it included fried ice cream and fried cheesecake (Oh My God!!!!)) I would definitely recommend this restaurant, but come hungry!

Stopped by after watching our daughter play softball all weekend. Took advantage of there afternoon specials, $13.95. Great price, lots of food and the chef (Kan, I think) was very personable and quite entertaining. He went the extra mile to make sure our food was perfect. Look forward to our next trip to Myrtle Beach.

Went to Lil Tokyo before a show and found it be fun and a good value. Because it was before 6pm on martini day the ladies had one of the signature cocktails for $4! Two ordered off regular hibachi menu and one off early bird. The last ordered sushi. All of the meals were great with big portion sizes on hibachi orders and service was quite good. Chef was very entertaining and fun to talk too. We had a 10% off card and my wife and my meal was $50 with 1 drink and tip. I think very reasonable for sure. Will go back next year when in MB.

Great stop for vegetarians. I was able to order plenty of vege only sushi options while my boyfriend got his tuna and salmon fix. Food was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent and the servers were funny! We will be back.

My sushi rolls unwrapped and were poorly assembled. My wife's noodles weren't fully cooked. Very overpriced for the quality we got

We had a great sushi meal here - fresh and tasty as good as anyplace we've eaten in Myrtle Beach. We found out they also have Pho so came back for a second dinner. Great pho and spring rolls! Friendly and attentive servers - just a great place to eat! They also have 12 Hibachi tables, although we didnt eat Hibachi they were busy and we still got our food quickly.

Lil Tokyo is a much welcome addition to the Coastal Grande Mall, which is right around the corner from mi casa. One can do Abuelos but so often you know. I was excited to see they had outdoor seating so we ventured over on a Saturday afternoon for a light lunch. Or so we thought. There is nothing light about their hibachi servings. They will feed a small army. On weekends, they don't do a lunch size/special, but will honor the early bird specials all day. We ordered the hibachi dinners for $13.95/each. Albeight, a bit pricey for lunch ehh? It came with soup and salad. Both had zero taste. A clear broth soup and iceberg lettuce salad with nothing on it. There is no nutrition there. Why waste the effort? The main course was really good though and cooked well. The food came quickly for us, as it was Saturday around 2pm. Might be a different story during peak hours. They seemed to have a nice, good size bar inside and the drinks looked good. I'd be up for giving them another try.

My wife and I took a weekend, and enjoyed this little gem of a restaurant one evening. We were seated right away, and served by Nah. Nah made everything that much better, even introducing us to our first sake bombs! She included the entire table of strangers, and made us work together to make the night memorable. Food was great, not too heavy like other hibachi grills. Lil' Tokyo has a new fan here.

Top Chef behind the sushi bar. Yup, he is the MASTER.... while the adjacent room with all the spatula and knife throwing entertain the diners and get the applause, the guys behind the raw fish and octopus. These soft spoken men master the raw fish game. Service is very good and attentive. The decor is upscale and hip. Not a big fan of sitting with complete strangers and being entertained by juggling knives and food particles, but am a big fan of the sushi and sashimi that comes over the bar ledge. The picks tonight were: Steak Fried Rice for our daughter Adult swim: Crunch Roll for $6.95 was OK for the $. Dancing Eel Roll was Rocking for $10.95.. would have again and again! The Sas Eel and Sas Octopus were healthy portions. We had enough food we didn't go for the goyza.. which we usually do dining this way. Wife opted for the house made (not frozen) Egg Rolls (more like gourmet spring rolls). They were very good served with a sweet-Sriracha sauce. The Sakura white sauce is ''drink out of the bowl'' delicious! SaleebScore: Food: 9.5/10 (almost a 10/10 for sushi/rolls and sas). Service is a 9.2/10, Overall for Sushi lovers I will have to give them a 9.5/10.

Bad Bad Bad! The food looks completely dead!!! ... The prices is ridiculous for the small unwanted unfresh potions... Sushi is awful.., I'm just surprise the health dept hasn't done their job... Customer Services is completely lost with their attitude... To them it is okay and good... To others it's ompletely rude with no table manners and respect to the customers.. This really does give a bad bad name to the other Japanese restaurant... Especially here in the south...

I would never go back there again! I went and got sushi and it took them 45 minutes to get it (the sushi is good but the wait sucks) also a friend came late and wanted something to drink and we didnt see the waitress for 30 min for me to then see her sitting on a couch talking to some kids. Then i went up asking where my sushi was and some how 5 min later we have our sushi. This is the 2nd time i have been in and had it take 45 min to get sushi. Then after expressing my dislike of how long it took the waitress stood over me waiting for me to give her a tip on my credit card. The staff was rude the food is good and the wait sucks!
